The Joys of Maternity Pants
So I'm at that point....all my clothes seem to be fitting a bit more snugly. That's when I found the miracle they call "stretchy pants". Basically the maternity clothes companies cut off the top couple inches of a normal pair of pants and replace it with a 2-inch band of elastic. HOW AWESOME!!! They are the most comfortable pants ever :) I'm definitely going to be spoiled! You're not going to catch me chilling on the couch with my pants unbottoned any more....

Baby pictures :)
Greg and I went in for another doctor's appointment today :) We weren't scheduled to have an ultrasound, but the tech couldn't find the heartbeat manually, so we had to do another one (excuses for more pictures!!!).

This was our first one from May 21 (you can probably see why we lovingly called the baby our seamonkey). The baby is "standing" upright on the left side (the white circle on the right is the yolk sac). You can kinda see the dark spot where his/her eye is. It measured 0.87 cm.
These other two are from today. The baby is lying on its left side (so the head is on the right) and you can see where the arms and legs are forming. The baby is now 3.47 cm which the doctor says is great (but it has a long way to go before it reaches its Bell/Baird potential!!!). Its heartbeat was 169 bpm, which the doc also says is normal.
So to sum it all up. We're doing great and so is the baby. I have been extremely blessed to have gone this far without morning sickness/nausea. We hope and pray that things continue to go smoothly :)
Lots of love...

WE'RE PREGNANT!!!
Expect the first Baird baby on January 5, 2009 (Fightin Texas Aggie Class of 2031!!). We're both super-excited and are trying to learn everything we need to do to get ready for him/her. Any suggestions would be greatly apppreciated!!
I'm teaching summer school this year, but since it's only half of the day, it still leaves me plenty of time to get projects done. We just started our kitchen demo project; Greg did an AWESOME job retexturing the walls!! It's now painted and the cabinets are installed, but no countertops or sink yet, so we're doing a lot of eating out. After we finish that project, I really want to start tearing into the upstairs bathrooms getting those remodeled, then it'll be time to make a baby nursery (I wonder if they make extra-tall cribs???).

That's about all for now, but I'll be sure to keep everybody posted...
