Fun times on Saturday morning

Have I mentioned how I cherish Saturday mornings?
After a big family breakfast, I head off to the grocery store for an hour of peaceful "Andrea time" while Greg stays home and keeps Allison entertained. Ever since Allison hit about 18 months old, grocery time became no fun for me, so it's now my standing Saturday-morning date.

Maybe Greg's not the next Ansel Adams, but what a cute picture.
Look for Allison on Top Model Cycle 28.

and I absolutely adore this picture. She's Daddy's little girl.

What?!?! Something other than pink?!?!

The Bairds are definitely excited about a baby boy joining the bunch!! I've already done a bit of shopping. Boy clothes are the cutest!!!

And so my Mom sees which nursery set we decided on, here are a few pictures of the sports-with-a-few-animals themed nursery
Notice the footbal, baseball, soccer ball and basketball sitting in the crib, as well as the mobile with nothing attached? Here's that full story...we buy the set and I can't wait to unpack it all, so I head upstairs and starting ripping apart the packaging. It's like they think some super-stealth nijna will break into Babys R Us and steal the dust ruffle from the set, so it's all in there with those plastic connectors and wires and booby traps. I just start cutting away at it all, not realizing that a few of the cords I'm cutting aren't for security purposes; they're what is used to hang the things from the mobile...oops. I'll probably get some cute blue and red ribbon to reconnect it eventually, but there's still lots of decorating to do.

Happy Because-I-Love-You Day!!!

Allison cheesing it up this morning before school. She was super-excited about her class party!!!

Instead of spending $10 on a box of cheap cards to give to the other kids in her class, I decided to make an art project out of it. Allison colored on some cardstock, stuck heart stickers everywhere, then I had to strategically write around the stickers. The back of the cards had a Hershey kiss and a box of raisins (trying to be a sensible, health-conscious parent here, ok?!?).

In the interest of full disclosure, no Allison didn't have the patience to color and put stickers on 20 cards, so I had to channel my inner 2-year-old to do a few. Any guesses on which one is my masterpiece?

Daddy even got Allison her own flowers for Valentine's Day too. They're now in a tiny bud vase next to my flowers. Too cute! This is Greg and my 6th Valentine's Day together, so it was fun to reminisce. Time sure flies!! I have been blessed with such a terrific husband and family, and I can't wait to see what our future holds!

IT'S A BOY!!!

It's taken for me to get a "snow" day off work to get these scanned and posted.
We found out Tuesday that we're going to be having a baby boy!! We're trying our best to get Allison to understand that she's going to have a little brother, but I don't know how much of it is sinking in for her. We're so excited to have a new bundle of joy in our lives and mid-June can't get here fast enough. I've already starting going through our baby things to see what we can use again, but I can't wait to start buying little boy clothes; I've always thought they were so cute!
I'm sure there'll be a learning curve when it comes to having a boy vs a girl...any suggestions on the "peepee teepee" or other must-have boy items would be a great help!!
Here are a couple pics from the ultrasound. We got about 10 pics in all, but I'm not posting the "I'm A Boy" picture because when baby boy Baird grows up I don't think he'd appreciate us posting his boy parts all over the internet ;)
Oh, and we have a couple ideas on names, but we're stuck on middle names. We'll let everybody know once we decide. I like calling the baby by its name in utero, so I'm sure we'll have something soon!!

And of course, he's got the Petty feet!!
