I'm more of a picture person than a true blogger, so here's some pics from the trip...
Crossing from Wyoming into Utah
The view from Grandma Petty's house
Allison with Grandma Petty at "Ellen's Gate" (my Grandma Siggard's front gate)
Windmills...there were hundreds and hundreds of these along our trip. The pictures don't do them justice though. A factory in Houston makes the blades, so they're hauled along the interstate; each blade is longer than 2 semi truck trailers. These things are massive!!!

Allison's turn to drive...her legs weren't quite long enough though:)
Allison's setup in the back seat. She was such a good car rider...she only threw a couple fits...

Thanks to Diners, Drive Ins and Dives from Food Network, we found this BBQ joint in Salt Lake. It was sooooo worth it!!
Cayson put the rag on her head because he wanted her to have "hair"
Be careful when you're driving in the middle of nowhere...when you get to talking and not paying attention to the gas tank, you might run out of gas. There was NOTHING around us, so good thing we were only a couple miles from my Aunt's house, so she was able to bring us gas. Thanks Artis :)
A picture that I took while we were waiting in the desert. I was proud of my photographic skills

We did get to meet up with my cousin Lisa (who's due in just a few weeks) and her husband Derek while we were in St George. Derek had to take the picture outside Cafe Rio because they don't allow pics inside the restaurant (some kind of lawsuit....). It was so good to get to see them!!
We also had lunch with my cousin Karen in Vegas, but Allison was getty sleepy and cranky and we didn't get to take a picture together :( But I'm glad we got to meet up and hang out if only for a little bit...
In St George at Matt and Emily's house. This was the first time Allison met these cousins, and they had a great time together!! Cayson loved playing with her and patting her on the head.
We got to spend 2 nights at the Cabin (near Cedar City). It was Greg's first time up there. We definitely enjoyed being able to relax and enjoy our vacation time together.

We decided to stop by the Hoover Dam on our way back. Greg was really interested and had never been. It was just a short stop, but the break from driving was nice. We only toured the Power Plant part of the dam because A-I'm married to an Elecrical Engineer and B-the whole dam tour cost like 3 times as much. And yes they used the "dam" joke the whole time on the tour..."I'm your dam tour guide", "Does anybody have any dam questions" just like on National Lampoon's Family Vacation.

What a fun trip!! I take it that Allison did good with the roadtrip? I love all the pictures!
Wow! What a trip! Looks like you guys had a great time visiting family and everything. We got your note about the family reunion - I think Frank's still trying to figure the whole thing out, but we'll try and get back to you ASAP. Thanks for remembering us.
That is so funny about the dam jokes because my dad is in construction and whenever he has a project involving a dam, I swear he can't wait to break out the dam jokes! Example: "I am sick of working on this DAM project..."
