And finally...pics of the new house!!!

I can't believe we moved in almost a month ago!! This house is absolutely perfect for us. We couldn't have asked for more. Here's your official "tour" of the house.

Our address is 2002 Riverknoll Ct Richmond TX 77469 (in case you didn't get our Christmas card). It's perfect because Greg is A&M class of 2002 (the street address) and I'm class of 2004 (the year the house was built). We're so cheesy :)

Our house is at the end of a short cul-de-sac, so parking can kinda be tight at times, but we have a 2 car garage and a 2 car porte cachere (fancy for car port) in front of it, so both our Texas-sized cars are covered.

The front entry

On the right when you come in is our laundry room, a 1/2 bath and our piano room.

Greg's parents had a piano they gave us (since Greg is the pianist in his family), and this is a great spot for it. Allison loves to listen to Greg play, and she's even banged out a few tunes herself.

To the left of the foyer is the formal dining (that leads to the kitchen). We already had the china hutch, but took some hand-me-down furniture from Greg's parents to try to fill the house. This mix-and-match dining room has already seen lots of use in the last few weeks.

The people who built this house had really good taste, so we didn't have to do much redecorating when we moved in except hang our pictures and put knobs on the kitchen cabinets. Thanks Mom and Dad for finding the contractor pack of knobs. They look great!!
From this pic you can see the door to the garage on the left, as well as our second staircase (there's two!?!).

There are lots of arches and art niches downstairs that I had to fill. The first one is the connecting way from the foyer to the living room (looking back at the front door). The second one is from the living room to the master bedroom, the next stop on the tour...

Pardon the TV on the floor, we really don't have enough furniture to fill the house. And it'll have to wait until we sell the condo (sidenote: we had an offer on the condo that fell through, so we're doing the 2 mortgage thing...no fun...).

The master bath and closets

Hers and his closets. At the back of Greg's closet, you might be able to see a door; it is a super-huge storage space (underneath the front stairway) that's perfect for all the Christmas decorations. There's definitely enough storage space in this house!!

A couple views of the living room

The breakfast room, study and second stairway.

The study is perfect for us...it was already Aggie Maroon!! Greg got his Dad's old rolltop desk and a few wingback chairs (that I plan to recover sometime in the future). Right now it's the pile-everything-in-here room, so I'll spare you the boxes in the corners.
Now upstairs...the view looking down the front staircase

Upstairs has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and the best room of all...you'll have to wait and see...

The guest bed and bath

The other upstairs bath. It links the other 2 bedrooms, Allison's and the large room.

Allison's room

The large room. I think this was designed to be some kind of media room or something because it's 15 ft by 20 ft, so it's a bit large for just a plain bedroom. We'll probably end up making a couple kids share this room (depending how many we have...). There are 2 closets in here and a door that connects to the bathroom. It's pretty much empty right now though...

The best room of all!!
They left the pool table and all the chairs for us as part of our deal. It's been so much fun! Greg even got to teach his nephew Blaine how to play. This is definitely a splurge we wouldn't have been able to affored for many many years, so we're glad to have it.

The view looking from the guest bedroom all the way to the pool table.

And last but not least, the backyard.
Since we're on the end of a cul-de-sac, our 1/4 acre lot is pretty much triangle-shaped. We have absulotely no front yard, but a huge backyard. I can't wait until it warms up a bit and we can play and bbq on the patio.
Hope you enjoyed your tour and can come visit us soon!!
