Summer is coming to an end....

I think we've been pretty productive this summer...

I've been busy teaching summer school, which has been a lot more stressful than I thought it would be. I have 4 days left of teaching, then I get my 4 day summer vacation before we have to go back to start the school year. The extra money has been a blessing to help with the kitchen renovation and the soon-to-start bathroom renovations (both of the upstairs bathrooms).

I spent yesterday tiling the backsplash in the kitchen. For all you DIYers out there, it wasn't as bad as I thought. The tough/messy part was grouting it (gravity isn't a good friend!!). The kitchen looks awesome though (I'll post pictures soon). All we have left to do is for Greg to change out all the switches and plugs to brand-new beautiful white ones.

Baby Baird is still doing great. We should find out the sex in about 2 weeks, so we'll keep everybody posted when we find out!! Nothing new to report except that more and more of my clothes aren't fitting any more....that's a good excuse to shop though :)

That's about all for now...I have a huge list of things that I want to get done so I fell more productive, so I need to get to it. Love you guys :)

Wow - you've been busy! I've always been impressed with teachers who tech summer school also. I always felt like it was all I could to make to the end of the year and then I had to have those 1 1/2 mos. off or I'd go crazy! Good for you on tiling also - that's awesome! Thanks for you comment on scrapbooking ideas - I do use Snapfish for a few things.

Hey Andrea!! It's good to hear that everything with the condo and the new baby are coming along good. I can't wait to find out if you guys are having a boy or a girl... I am going to bet that you are having a boy. ;-) Just a hunch. Anyway, to answer your question that you posted on my site about the pediatrician that we use, we go to Dr. Hanh Nguyen in Sugar Land. It may be a bit of a drive for you - her office is at 59 and 99 by in the hospital there across from HEB - but she is so awesome that you may find it worth the drive. We LOVE her. She never makes you feel hurried and she explains everything so thoroughly - which is great for a first time mom. The best is that you get a lot of personal attention. She doesn't have an answering service - you deal directly with her when you need to contact her after hours. She is also married with 3 boys, so it's nice that she is a parent herself. Anyway, her website is here: http://www.tykestoteens.net/
We started off with Dr. Black. He is in the same group as the doctor (can't think of his name right now) that the Dominy's and Kirby's use, but we always felt rushed and Ryan was like a number rather than a person. They just see sooooo many kids there, the doctor barely remembered us from visit to visit. I prefer more personal attention than that and since Dr. Nguyen has her own practice, you get to know her and she gets to know your child. We have been happy with the switch. Anyway, that's about all that is going on here. I have 14 weeks left to go. :-) Talk to you soon.

I can't wait to find out what you're having!! I think that's the most exciting part about being pregnant. That and then being able to feel it kick and move around. You guys have been super productive, can't wait to see pictures of the summer projects.
